Type-II D. M.
Letʹs know about Type-II D. M. (Diabetes Mellitus).   According to Ayurveda, this is a lifestyle disorder.    Ayurveda suggests medication for some duration and prescribes lifestyle correction.  D. M. is a silent killer without any visible symptoms, yet it gnaws us from within and starts showing its wretched influence on a person’s brain, eyes, heart, kidneys, sex-life, blood vessels.   Patients generally prefer to keep their sugar levels under control, by taking a tablet as prescribed.  It may remain under control initially.  But it does not mean the patient is healthy.   It proves ineffective over time.  Consequently, the medication and its dosage get bigger, ultimately leading to insulin treatment and recurrent consequences.  Ayurveda therefore, suggests pre-diabetic precautionary measures and ideally healthy lifestyle.

Why me?
Science says, it may occur largely due to heredity.  If it is so, what should we to avoid passing of D. M. to the next generations?  Prakruti specifically guides you on this particular aspect.  If you have inherited this disorder, specific and appropriate treatment  is given accordingly.  However, if you are the victim of D. M. due to mental fatigue,  professional or domestic anxieties, stress and restlessness or   sedentary lifestyle, proper line of treatment is designed after studying all these factors.

How can you overcome?
D. M. is the  disorder.  It is not a disease.  As such it cannot be cured.  Instead we have to defeat it with the  help of proper metabolism, body-purification, diet, exercise and meditation.   These are the drugless armours that  keep the disorder completely under control and saves the future generations from falling prey to this deadly silent killer.  At Prakruti, we administer the Ayurvedic treatment in tandem with the allopathic drugs that the patient has already been taking.  We monitor the HbA1C of the patient.  If it is within limits, the patient is allowed to perform the virechana  (purgation) at home and within next 7 – 15 days the necessary panchakarma treatment is administered to allow the patient get rid of chemical drugs.  He is properly guided to lead the stress-free, healthy life with ideal lifestyle, thus making his life drugless and complication-less.
